There’s no way to disable this function that’s been added for seemingly no reason, and with all the other issues it makes the app not worth using over the regular cable tv channel. But this new redesign DOES NOTHING to fix those issues, and then tags on a forced “highlights” feature that automatically kicks in after an hour or so and switches from live broadcast to short clips of earlier programming. There’s always been times when the app freezes, there’s never been a rewind feature, there’s been several times when the app flat out crashes, and while it’s the only app with which I have those issues with, I still use it because it’s still slightly more convenient when switching between streaming services to choose what to watch. This is very annoying and such a pain that I often just quit watching - which is certainly not what I want to do! But when a live program has frozen twice, or more, during a single viewing, it is just too aggravating and frustrating to go through the process of trying to get it to unfreeze and restart. In the meantime I’ll have missed part of the program.Īnd sometimes, when a live program has frozen, it won’t let me go back to the MSNBC Home page at all and I actually have to turn my device off, then back on, select the MSNBC app. I then have to go back to the MSNBC Home page, select Live TV and hope it will play correctly. Sometimes, after several minutes, it will begin to play again on its own but usually it stays stuck.
